Joyce Wee
Ang Mo Kio · Household Plan
"I had been meaning to sit down and properly understand our CPF accounts for years, and kept putting it off. The first session made it considerably less daunting. By week three, my husband and I had actually sat together and gone through the workbook exercises together at home."

Michael Seah
Bishan · Investing
"The investing course moved at exactly the right pace for me. I had attended another course a few years earlier and left more confused than I arrived — too much jargon, too many acronyms, and no real time to ask questions. This was different. Nine weeks felt like the right amount of time."

Priya Thamby
Tampines · Retirement Readiness
"I am retiring in two years and I arrived with a list of things I knew I needed to sort out but hadn't. The CPF LIFE module alone was worth the course fee — I had been assuming things about my election choices that turned out to be incorrect. The personal document I produced at the end was genuinely useful."

Lee Kwang Min
Queenstown · Household Plan
"What I appreciated most was that no one tried to sell us anything. At every seminar I had been to before, there was always a product pitch at the end. Here, the instructor was clearly just a teacher. That made it easier to take the content at face value."
MARCH 2025
Rajan Nair
Jurong East · Investing
"The session on behavioural tendencies was probably the most valuable for me personally. I have been aware for a while that I make decisions inconsistently, but I had never thought about why or what the pattern was. The workbook exercise that week was genuinely revealing."
APRIL 2025
Susan Chua
Buona Vista · Retirement Readiness
"My husband attended the investing course two years ago and has been encouraging me to try one of these courses since. I chose the Retirement Readiness Review because I am closer to retiring. The group I was placed with had very similar situations to mine, which made the discussion feel relevant rather than general."

Participant Journeys
Three accounts in more detail
SITUATION BEFORE
Kwong Fai, 47, had not reviewed his household insurance coverage since taking out a term policy in his early thirties. His wife had returned to work and they had recently paid off their HDB mortgage, but they had not adjusted their financial arrangements to reflect either change.
WHAT THE COURSE ADDRESSED
The Household Financial Plan course gave him a structured framework to review their position. The insurance module in week four prompted a review of their coverage that they had been deferring for years. The balance sheet exercise in week one clarified their actual net position.
WHAT CHANGED
He and his wife completed the workbook exercises together at home. The personal summary document produced in the final session gave them a single reference point for the decisions they had made and the ones they still needed to address. He enrolled in the Investing course four months later.
"The summary document has been sitting on my desk since March. I have referred to it three times already."
— Kwong Fai, Bukit Batok
SITUATION BEFORE
Nalini, 52, had a SRS account that she had opened years earlier and largely forgotten about. With retirement approaching, she was uncertain about when to start drawing from it, whether it interacted with her CPF LIFE payout timing, and what the tax implications were.
WHAT THE COURSE ADDRESSED
The Retirement Readiness Review course covered SRS drawdown sequencing in week three, including the interaction with CPF LIFE election timing. The workbook exercise for that week involved mapping out a sequence using the participant's own approximate figures.
WHAT CHANGED
She completed the programme with a documented drawdown sequence that she could take to a financial adviser to review in detail. The course had clarified what she needed to ask, rather than leaving her dependent on the adviser to determine the agenda.
"I now know what questions to ask. That by itself was worth it."
— Nalini, Serangoon
SITUATION BEFORE
Bernard, 44, had some savings set aside for investing but had not acted on them because he was uncertain about where to start, worried about making a mistake, and had found online resources either too basic or too fast-moving for him to follow comfortably.
WHAT THE COURSE ADDRESSED
The Patient Introduction to Investing course gave him nine weeks to work through the concepts at a deliberate pace. The session on fee analysis was a turning point — he had been looking at products without understanding what he was paying for each one.
WHAT CHANGED
He left the course with a clearer framework for evaluating investment options and a better understanding of his own risk tolerance. He described the capstone session — walking through a sample portfolio — as making the process feel concrete in a way that reading about it had not.
"Nine weeks ago, I would not have known how to start. Now I feel like I have a framework."
— Bernard, Pasir Ris
